Location
If possible, locate the Disc Jockey close to the dance floor. This will enable your entertainer to interact with guests and better coordinate all traditional formalities.
Volume
Please consider the noise level in relation to the placement of guests,
due to the size of the room when planning your seating arrangements. (i.e.: locate younger guests closer to the dance floor/speakers and older guests further away.)
Forms
Return both the Disc Jockey Procedure Forms and The Musical Request Sheet
at least one month prior to your scheduled reception date. This will allow sufficient time for proper planning and musical preparation.
To insure your day and event is one to remember, not only for you
but your guests as well.
Requests
When choosing musical requests, keep in mind that
there is a limited amount of time and usually a wide range of age
groups present. Our goal is to please you! Help us enhance your
reception by focusing on the specific requests, dedications, and
musical preferences that are most important to you. It is also helpful to list any songs that you do not want played.
Five Hour Wedding Breakdown
-
Cocktails- (approx. 1 hour)
Perhaps some Light Jazz, Adult Contemporary or Big Band to set the proper mood. Special attention is given to the volume, especially during the dinner and cocktail hours. Nothing can disrupt a formal affair more than music played too loud!
-
Dinner- (approx. 1 hour, 15 min.)
Traditionally more light contemporary and standard vocalists, even classical, depending on your preference.
Formalities- (approx. 45 min.)
-
Traditional formalities such as all formal dances, prayer, toast, cake cutting, garter and bouquet, etc.
-
Open dancing- (approx. 2 hours)
At an average of 4 minutes a song, this translates into pleasing guests from over five decades with enough time to play approximately 30 songs! This can only be achieved on a consistent basis by a true professional. A professional has the proper experience and knowledge to effectively "read" the crowd and coordinate all festivities with confidence.
